The sE8, a brand-new high-performance handcrafted small-diaphragm condenser microphone, has emerged from the labs at sE, ready to tackle any challenges in the studio or on stage. Its hand-made capsule features a sophisticated backplate design that delivers a perfectly balanced sound, ensuring it's never harsh or aggressive – making it an ideal choice for sources like high-hats and drum overheads.

As one of the quietest small-capsule mics on the market, the sE8 boasts the highest dynamic range and SPL handling in its class. Equipped with attenuation pads and low-cut filters, it offers superb flexibility, allowing it to handle a wide range of sounds, whether in the studio environment or demanding on-stage applications.

The sE8 is a true condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Its sensitivity is 25 mV/Pa (-32 dBV), and it can handle a maximum SPL of 139 / 149 / 159 dB SPL (0/10/20 dB pad) with 0.5% THD at 1 kHz. The equivalent noise level is a mere 13 dB(A), and the dynamic range is an impressive 126 / 136 / 146 dB (0/10/20 dB Attentuation pad).

Boasting a signal-to-noise ratio of 81 dB, the sE8 also features a switchable low-cut filter (80 / 160 Hz, 6 dB/Oct) and an attenuation pad (10 / 20dB). Powered by 48 Volts according to IEC 61938, the microphone has an electrical impedance of 110 Ohms and a recommended load impedance of >1k Ohms, with a current consumption of 27 mA.

The sE8's all-metal chassis provides efficient rejection of any electrical interference and noise, while the high-quality finish and gold-plated XLR connector ensure a great look and a loss-free, reliable signal.
